Harrison Lake State Park

When I think of Tranquility I often think of time spent at Harrison Lake State ParkThe first time I came here was many years ago on a date where we sat and fished along the lake.

Here, you can catch bluegill, channel catfish largemouth bass, white crappie, and bullhead. I’ve often fished along the banks and have caught all but the bass here.

There are many beautiful vistas throughout the park but my favorite is standing here gazing out over the park from the picturesque footbridge.

Yes, my very first visit to Harrison Lake State Park was to fish but this is also a popular destination for camping, swimming, and canoeing.

It's a spectacular park for us nature lovers who like to stroll through leaves on a crisp fall day.

The area covers 142 acres and has a swimming beach, dog beach and a campground with 181 campsites.

There are spacious wooded sites, clean restrooms, and friendly staff. A volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoes,  shelter houses, canoes, paddleboats, corn hole boards, and a playground is available.

The lakeshore and woodlands are charming as is the view from the dam area.
