Dog Clubs and New Friends

It's been many months since I've posted on this blog. So, to update you, we decided to do a little fossil hunting in September and ended up attending the 2019 Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America National Specialty held at Hueston's Woods State Park Resort  & Lodge.

We had a lovely time there!  You can learn more about it here https://2019gsmdcans.com

Backtracking a little to talk about our cockapoos, I must tell you we had a scare in August.

Our sweet Monroe had to have surgery to have a tumor removed from his leg. He recovered well but it was a scary time and reminded us of Caroline Knapp's quote, "Before you get a dog, you can’t quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can’t imagine living any other way.”

We were all concerned about Monroe especially our tuxedo dog Motley.

Monroe wanted space to rest his leg so Motley was left to cuddle with his bear.

Around this time, my husband brought home this statue of a dog that resembles our dog, Buddy.

Buddy is doing well and will soon be celebrating his 10th birthday.

Buddy spent some time this summer playing with his golden retriever pal Griffin. Here's a photo of Griffin when he was a pup.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, Lucky joined our family on February 14th. Sometimes people mistake him for Monroe as they have similar coloring.

Lucky has been a great addition and has bonded well with us.

When Lucky is not sleeping with me or my husband, he's often out walking around the neighborhood. One day he spotted a new friend, the neighbor's cat Waldo. It was a curious meeting but they get along well.
