HiHydro Pet Wheelchair Review

Many of you know that Lucky developed neurological issues with his hindquarters and cannot walk so he often scoots himself across the floor putting pressure on his hind end.

To assist him in being mobile, we purchased the budget-friendly HiHydro Pet Wheelchair.

The wheelchair is available in eight different sizes. We did a variety of measurements and selected the Size: M. We appreciate the fact that the wheelchair's height and width are adjustable and lightweight.

The product arrived and was easy to assemble. The most difficult thing we ran into was calculating how to balance the unit with Lucky in it when he had his feet up in the loose foot straps.

After his first sitting, we made adjustments and then made a few small modifications. The blue rubber protectors for the end of the rods fell off so we wrapped tape around them to keep them in place. We were concerned about Lucky being comfortable so we padded the metal by purchasing pipe insulation and wrapping the metal with it. We also padded the foot straps.

It's freezing here so Lucky does not spend much time outside but when he does he is able to easily maneuver.  He uses the wheelchair inside too.

It took us a few tries to figure out the easiest way to get him in and out of the chairs. In this photo, the pipe insulation came loose while lifting him out so we soon taped it on.
