Sniffing Out Rabbits

Lucky is acclimating to his rear support harness. Here he is shown with his stuffed bear which replaces the stuffed bunny he destroyed.

Lucky has been taking walks around our property with the aid of the harness. He frequently heads in the direction of our kitchen garden.

It's commonly known that dogs' ability to detect scents is more developed than that of people. A dog's nose is designed to capture and dissolve scent particles making them recognizable to olfactory cells and the brain.

This morning Lucky lead me to an area of bushes on our back property. He was able to localize where the scent was the strongest and sure enough, a  bunny darted out of the bushes and quickly hopped across the backfield.

Lucky attempted to follow.

It is good to see Lucky still has his joy for sniffing out animals even though his hind leg are not working
