RIP Our Sweet Monroe

On Monday, October 28th, our sweet Monroe started palliative care and it ended today with his passing.

After Monday's hospital visit, we sought out another opinion and list of options.
Our local vets office said they could not see Monroe until November 15th and the vets' office in the town nearest to us said their vets were in surgery or busy and would call back when able. They had not gotten back to us so I started looking for another hospital and found an emergency specialty hospital within hours of us and we traveled there today with Monroe.

The diagnosis Monroe received there aligned with the first vet we took him to on Monday. Monroe was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of osteosarcoma. We were given a small list of options and the vet told us a little about the timelines and experiences he had witnessed with those options.

The decision was ours and we chose humane euthanasia. Monroe passed in my arms. We then brought him home and let our dogs spend time with his body before burying him.
