Bath time is never anyone's favorite activity around here, but what happens afterward makes it all worthwhile. The moment my two little girls are wrapped in towels and finally set free, it's as if they've been waiting for the starting bell.
The zoomies begin.
Coco and Lily take off racing through the house with tiny paws flying across the floor, ears bouncing, tails wagging, and not a care in the world. They chase each other from room to room, dart around furniture, spin in circles, leap at one another, and suddenly stop just long enough to invite the other to continue the game. Before I know it, they're off again, looking like two fluffy little rockets.
Their happiness is contagious. I can't help but smile as I watch them play, acting as though getting clean is the greatest adventure they've ever had. They wrestle gently, steal each other's favorite toy, and race past me so fast they're just a blur of soft fur. For a few wonderful minutes, the house is filled with nothing but laughter, happy barks, and the sound of two little puppies having the time of their lives.
Eventually, the excitement fades. Their breathing slows, the zoomies come to an end, and they curl up side by side for a well-earned nap. Their coats are soft and fluffy, they smell wonderful, and they look completely innocent—as if they hadn't just turned the living room into their own personal racetrack.
