Poodle Excitement Peeing
At 6 months old, Coco is dealing with excitement peeing, so she occasionally wears a diaper. We make sure she gets plenty of diaper-free time so she can keep practicing good habits. We’ve had both male and female puppies over the years, and in our experience, females do seem a little more prone to excitement or submissive urination. The trickiest part right now is that when Coco is in a diaper, Lily thinks it’s a toy and tries to play with it—and sometimes tears it right off Coco. It’s definitely our biggest challenge at the moment. We are working with Coco and look forward to her outgrowing this stage. Here are some of the steps we are taking.
